New study: Paeonol’s role in extending lifespan and enhancing fitness

By activating these guardians, paeonol enhances the worms’ tolerance to oxidative and thermal stress, paving the way for a longer, healthier life.

The implications of these findings are profound. The IIS pathway and the transcription factors DAF-16/FOXO and SKN-1/Nrf2 are highly conserved between C. elegans and mammals, including humans. This means that paeonol could potentially promote healthy aging in humans.
